Post Rock Welcomes Emily Feng!

October 2, 2020 | Students | By: Jodie Ostmeyer

My name is Emily Feng, I am a fourth year medical student at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City. I am working with Dr. Brull, Dr. Maciaszek and Dr. Beth Oller for my family medicine rotation.

Where are you from?
St. Louis, I moved to Kansas City in the middle of high school.

Why did you come to Plainville?
I was connected to Dr. Beth Oller though the family medicine mentorship program, and I wanted to come to Plainville to work with her!

What do you hope to be when you are out of school?
Either a family medicine doctor or an ob/gyn. I would love to be a trusted part of my patients’ lives.

What do you like to do outside of medicine?
I bake (recently got into making sourdough bread!). I also started learning some crafts, like quilting, calligraphy and book binding.

What do you hope to learn from your rotation in Plainville?
I am curious about what it means to be a rural physician, in terms of practice isolation, living in a community where everyone kind of knows how you are and what the scope of practice is.
