Post Rock Family Medicine Welcomes Tequila Manning

August 14, 2017 | Students | By: Jodie Ostmeyer

My name is Tequila Manning and I am a 4th year medical student at KU School of Medicine, Kansas City. I am currently on my rural rotation following Dr. Beth Oller.

Where are you from?
I am from Starkville, MS.

Why did you come to Plainville?
I was in Plainville and Stockton last year for my family medicine rotation. I really enjoyed working with Dr. Oller and her staff, and the community was very welcoming.  I requested to return because I knew I would have a great learning experience.

What do you hope to be when you’re out of school? Why?
I hope to be a general internist, so I am applying to Internal Medicine residency programs. I enjoy working in a hospital setting and taking care of sick patients with multiple complex diseases. I also like outpatient medicine and plan to do primary care in a rural community.

What do you like about shadowing in Plainville?
I learn so much from the Ollers and the patients are nice and allow me to exam them.

What do you like to do outside of medicine?
I am a movie-lover and spa-goer!

What do you hope to learn from your rotation in Plainville?
I hope to learn community-based medicine.
