Kansas Clean Indoor Air Act

April 30, 2010 | News | By: Jennifer Brull | Tags: ,

On March 12, 2010, Governor Mark Parkinson signed into law the Kansas Indoor Clean Air Act. The purpose of this law is to protect the public health by reducing exposure to secondhand smoke in public places and places of employment. On July 1, 2010, the law goes into effect and restaurants and businesses in Plainville, along with everywhere else in the state, will become smoke free.

The smoking ban includes public places, places of employment, restaurants, bars, and any outdoor space within 10 feet of business entrances and air intakes. This will be quite an adjustment for several of our local businesses, so please support them as they make this positive change.
